Waialae Golf Club

I got the invite to play a round at Waialae Country Club today.  This is a rare invitation so I had to drop everything I was doing this day to play this course!
It was a beautiful day.  Trades about 10-20 mph.  Super sunny!  I haven't played a round in awhile so I  I knew I'd have my hands full with this course!
This is a view of the second hole par 3.  This is #11 for the Sony Open.  I guess they flip the nines around during the tournament.

This is a really good area to be during the tourney.  There's like two greens and three tee boxes all in on place.  A lot of pros are crisscrossing at this intersection.
They are getting the course ready for the open.  Growing out the rough and the greens are rolling super fast!  It's like putting on an ice sheet!  It looks like a beautiful walk in the park on a Sunday afternoon but this course is a MONSTER!  I've never seen so many trees on a course in my life!  A lot of little trees placed strategically just off the fairways so if you miss a little left or right "Punch city baby!"

 The 8th...
One of favs of all time.  Somewhere on the back nine....
Yes that is my ball.  I got lucky.  Haha!
A view of the range and the my friends I was playing with.  On the 18th hole.

Here's the the view of the 7th hole green.  Super rad how they got those coconut trees to do that.  I had a great time and I hope to get another invitation soon.  Happy Veterans Day.....  Especially to my Dad and Brother.

Vegas Baby, Vegas!

Although we couldn't light up in the arena, we still brought some to smoke afterwards.  Lakers played Kings at UNLV.  Partagas 1845. -bedrock

SIP goes to Vegas!

After making a few bets at the sports box, we enjoyed some cigars and scotch.  Partagas Black

East Side Smoke

Smoked a few here.  Took a Serie N and Partagas Black 1845.  Nothing less than spectacular.  I partook while fishing for lunch.  -bedrock

Potential Smoke Spot

A great look at Diamond Head from Keahi Lagoon.  May become a good smoke spot.

Illunsione Eperney

This Eperney stands out with hints of coffee and sweet notes of honey.  Leaves a good taste in your mouth and goes well with Scotch or Cognac.

Smoke site "Ala Wai"

Kj and I(Jptour) escape from a long day at work to Ala Wai boat harbor for a nice relaxing smoke.  Here are some pictures of the view.  Diamond head in the background.  Great place to come for a surf check...

Rainbow just popped up out of the blue....
I smoked a Serie R this afternoon.  Really good smoke.  Smooth and creamy all the way to the end.
A view of two cats in the channel at Ala Bowls..  The surf looked pretty fun today.  1-3 feet
(Hawaiian scale) and not to crowded.
 Jptour with a Serie R
KjG smoked a Partagas "black" today.  One of my top 10's for sure..
I thought this was a cool shot.  If you look closely the end of the rainbow is right between the two buildings.

The Ilikai hotel.  That's my favorite color.  Seafoam green...
Did my best to get a pic of the Waikiki Natatorium War Memorial
Our mode of transportation for this smoke site.

Pukalani Golf Course - Maui

By KJ Gurkha

During my years living here, I played many rounds here and is one of my favorite courses on Maui. Its located in Pukalani on your way up to Haleakala (means house of the rising sun). The greens fees are very reasonable and the course is fairly challenging while supplying some very nice views of the West Maui mountains and the ocean as well.

After the round we decided to head to one of my friends house a little further up the way for some refreshments.

We decided to watch the Steelers - Broncos game while we ate some bbq.

The dessert after the bbq. (Remy Martin Cognac, Rocky Patel - Vintage Cameroon, La Gloria Cubana - Serie R, Gurkha - Ancient Warrior, 5 Vegas - Gold Maduro)

After eating I had a Gurkha - Ancient Warrior with some Remy. The Ancient Warrior was very flavorful which made the Remy taste even better. Shortly afterwards I smoked a Gurkha - Centurian with a little more Remy. This dark connecticut wrapped cigar is another one of my faves. It has a nice smooth draw with some earthy undertones. Definitely a must try. I recommend the double perfecto 6 x 60.

Six hours, 4 cigars, and one empty bottle of Remy later, it was time to go. Enjoyed a nice round of golf with some friends and the Broncos won. All in all not a bad day at all.

Kahili Golf Course - Maui

By KJ Gurkha

The Kahili Golf Course is located in Waikapu on the island of Maui. It has stunning mountain and ocean views. Its been a while since I've been back to visit my family so my brother and I decided to play some golf. I started the front nine with a Rocky Patel - Vintage Cameroon. This cigar is slowly climbing the list of my favorites each time I smoke one. As usual I smoked a 6 x 60. This cigar has a nice smooth draw with a hint of sweetness and cedar. It puts out some mighty fine smoke as well.

On the back nine I decided to light up a Gurkha - Beauty. This smoke had a nice nutty leathery taste that went along nicely with my beer. Unfortunately the rain came in fast and furious and we were only able to finish one hole on the back nine and as much as I tried to protect my smoke from the rain I failed. Too bad it was just starting to get good.

"Have Stogeys Will Travel"

Can't say this was a road trip but a trip nonetheless to Cottons house for a midday BBQ.  The all-star line up for today was the coveted Macanudo Especiale, Gurkha Grand Centurian, La Gloria Serie N, Gurkha G5 Avenger, and Partagas Black.  I smoked them all except for the Macanudo, but my Suby Pig was taking a whiff (see photo).  Cotton and I paired today's lineup with Hennesy (room temp of course) and some Heineken's.  Cool, refreshing and downright dangerous.

More pics from Labor day

Sunset was ridiculous
Kj Gurkha and Bedrock

This stogie didn't make my cut.  I bought it at a cigar shop the day before.  Tasted stale like it was left outside.  Too bad cause I was really curious on how this stogie tasted.  Maybe if I find another one from a different shop I'll try it again.  -Jptour-

Gurkha Vintage Legend

By KJ Gurkha

The Gurkha Vintage Legend is one of my everyday smokes. This bad boy is aged 8 years and has a dark connecticut wrapper. It has a nice smooth, creamy draw with notes of coffee and cocoa leaving you with a hint of sweetness after each puff. I like the 6 x 60's for this cigar.

I also bought some new booze to pair with my smokes. The first was Dewar's Aberfeldy single malt scotch. It was nice and light leaning towards the sweet side, not bad at all. The second bottle was Johnny Walker Double Black blended scotch whiskey. The Double Black really surprised me. It was very flavorful and smooth. Between the two, the Double Black really paired well with my smoke. I recommend you give it a try. Price range is around $40 - $50.
